In my work, I came to know a man who impressed me as being a total scoundrel. He was superficially likable, but wholly untrustworthy and mercenary of heart. In his younger days, he had accepted $50 from a so-called faith healer to jump out of a wheelchair for the benefit of a gullible audience. That must have been quite a show. As for me, I am convinced that God can heal anyone He wants. God made us and He can fix us as He so chooses. For this reason, I believe in faith healing, but I do not believe in faith healers. I have never learned to trust a preacher decked out a $3,000 Armani suit who, in the manner of a randy goat, bleats, “Puh-raise Gawd!” Give your hard-earned money to such a huckster if you wish, but I will never leave my brain at the carnival gate.
Chaplain Mike is a follower of Jesus Christ, a proud father,,a part time cranky old guy, a fan of minor league baseball, and a writer, composer, and musician. He's not very good at any of these endeavors, but it does make for an impressive bio.
