Do not fall into the trap of believing that those with the largest houses, newest cars, and biggest bank accounts are more highly favored than those of more modest means. In my many years, I have determined that wealth and possessions are generally a distraction that diminishes one’s focus, allegiance and dependence on God. In other words, great material possessions are seldom a blessing and, indeed, are more often a troublesome curse that leads the rich into contempt for the poor and spiritual idolatry. Money is the god of many wealthy persons. Again, do not think those who live sumptuous lives are necessarily God’s favorites or the happy recipients of His best blessings.
There is no greater blessing than enjoying an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the pearl of great price. He is our reward. No one who comes to Him will be turned away; sadly, the majority of people are too busy with the petty distractions of this life to give Him the attention and devotion He deserves.
My friend, if you are a follower of Jesus, and I trust that you are, you are wealthy beyond imagination and blessed beyond human comprehension.
